About
Mikayla Mendes
Newborn & Baby Photographer in Modesto, California
I specialize in newborn and baby milestone photography for families throughout Modesto and the Central Valley. My approach is calm, guided, and thoughtfully designed to preserve your baby’s earliest chapters in a timeless way.
I believe your baby’s first year deserves to be documented beautifully — without pressure, chaos, or overcomplication. My sessions are intentionally relaxed, baby-led, and designed to feel effortless for parents.
Outside of the studio, I’m a mother to two boys — and that perspective deeply shapes the way I photograph families. I understand how quickly the newborn haze fades, how fast the milestones arrive, and how easy it is to forget the tiny details in the middle of everyday life.
Motherhood has taught me to value simplicity, patience, and presence. Those same principles guide my sessions. I approach every newborn and milestone session with calm intention, allowing space for feeding breaks, cuddles, and the natural rhythm of your baby.
These early days are fleeting. My goal is to preserve them in a way that feels honest, timeless, and beautifully uncomplicated.
What it's like to work with me
From the moment you inquire, your experience is thoughtfully guided. You’ll receive clear preparation details, wardrobe suggestions, and support in choosing the session style that best fits your family — whether that’s in-studio, in-home, or a Fresh 48 hospital visit.
Newborn sessions are baby-led and never rushed. The studio is kept warm and relaxed, with flexibility built into every session to accommodate feeding, soothing, and quiet moments. My priority is creating an environment where both parents and baby feel comfortable.
Milestone and maternity sessions are designed with the same intentional simplicity — natural light, neutral tones, and a focus on genuine connection.
You don’t need to worry about posing or what to do with your hands. I guide you every step of the way so you can simply be present with your family.
